Big Hike Friday
Friday at around 4p.m. I am going on a long hike with the rest of my Outdoor Pursuits class. I am greatly looking forward to it. I love the outdoors and love hiking. It will be a great way to get closer with the rest of my classmates. The Outdoors Pursuits class usually does an overnight camping trip but our class won't be able to fit that in. So instead, we are just going to be hiking for a few hours. We are still carrying just about all of the normal gear we would if we were actually camping overnight.

Monday Already
Wow it's Monday already. Why does the weekend have to go so fast? It's time for another long week with tons more work to get done and so little time to do it. It is hard to stay on top of everything. Especially when I have Tech PETE, Anatomy and Physiology, and Fitness Education all in one semester. Oh well, everyone is going to have to do it at some point.

SRU 2nd Annual Strongman turnout
SRU's 2nd annual strongman competition had a very good turnout this Saturday. There were somewhere around 50 competitors that signed up. It did, however, last over 7 hours. There was a injury during the first event. One guy went to complete the log press and dropped the 200 lb log on his ankle. No diagnosis was done there but he was taken to the hospital with a probable broken ankle. I was glad to see plenty of spectators as well. Congratulations to everyone that came out, especially those who just started in the sport. It is good to see the sport beginning to grow. Thank you to Alex Truman and Nick Marts for putting the competition together and running the show.

Slippery Rock Stronman Competition
This Saturday the 19th here at Slippery Rock University, the 2nd annual Slippery Rock University Strongman Competition will be held at I believe 12:00 p.m. at Old Thompson Stadium. I have heard that there are not too many people, only between 12 and 20 people, who have signed up to particicpate. There are different divisions depending on what you weigh and these different divisions require different weight in the events so you if you weigh 200 or below you will not be expected to lift the same weights as those weighing 235 and above. Anyone interested should contact Nicholas Marts. You can also sign up that day. This is a great way to meet some new people. It is for both guys and girls. Come check it out!
